re-igniting the dancefloors twenty years after its original release, steve bug refreshes this classic chez damier production originally from 1992. can you feel it is one of those classic new york / chicago house jams that just defines a moment in dance music history. dessous label boss steve bug arranges two special mixes that celebrate and re-juvinate this very special record. steves straight up remix maintains the classic vibes with a sensitive 90s themed rework that calls upon clean, fresh drums and smooth sub bass as its initial building blocks. the instantly recognisable vocal is included, as is the hey-day chord vibes and glorious us house melodies. simply deadly in the right moments. a re-dub version is also included that spaces things out and opens up the strings in a breezy and superbly mixed club tool. a new york dub has also been included, dug out from the chez damier vaults and re-mastered for 2012 - highly prized vibes on this and his trademark, pushing, swinging drums keep us going on and on!

h45 sees manchester s tomson (freerange) & eddie leader (hudd traxx) colloborate with chicago legend chez damier. this project has been in a long time in the making and came about when chez met eddie at his house & techno night content manchester. chez was at the start of his comeback and they were introduced by mutual friend joshua, a former prescription and hudd traxx artist. the meeting resulted in chez becoming good friendswith tomson & leader and laying down some vocals in the studio for the manchester pair. h45 is a new catalogue number for the hudd traxx family

from the executive producer chez damier come a special edition release marking the 20th anniversary of balance and prescription records. side a. the mission: lavida (life) is a project and group from switzerland that was produce by chez damier and italian producer demetrio giannice, the track is deep with choped vocals of chez and chaka khan, very chord driven with a jazzy feel as the break of the track. a2. is a young group of french producers from paris called siler & dima , thomas zander with track called: inappropriate, a deep driven track with spoken words , more minimal and was inspired by some of ron and chez early works, this is for sure new school and very club friendly. side b is a remastered version of the rare prescription underground mix of ron trent and chez damier s classic --the choice-- this is one of the dance classics that helped shaped a new underground sound for the club, with ripping synth, raw snares and high strings, this 20 year old track hold up as well as a track made today.

its been a heady few months for d julzs bass culture imprint. the response and support from the dj world has been overwhelming, and this is of course down to the wonderful a&r skills of the label chief. now, with bass cultures 8th release, we are pleased to bring you the slit e.p. - greek producer, john dimas is well known for his live performances, as well as his djing skills in his town of thessaloniki & throughout europe. his sound spans the styles of techno, acid & more specifically – house music, which he performs in the club, across 3 turntables. stil quite new to the world of production, john dimas has his sights set high, having remixed the likes of fischerspooner – and now, he comes with his very first release on bass culture, adding his grecian flavour. the >slit e.p.< is a package that spans tech house, house & deep house… the original title track is dark, but rich & rides the groove nicely. the chez damier >late night mix< is exactly that – supple and full of just the right touch of deep quirkiness for late night sessions.

let me do yore starts off in tribal mode and then adds triangle and shakers to its relaxed percussive groove before shuttling off into the stratosphere where sheets of synthetic slivers dart past at lightning speed, the tracks bottom heavy pulse builds in intensity as claps and soulful voice swirls bring a delirious vibe to the proceedings. following a detroit tinged intro, a moment of truth slides into place with congas and claps helping it find its way. sizzling hi hats and a thumping kick drum deepen the groove while a funky bass line provides hip shaking accompaniment and marks the return of a house legend, who’s still at his best. soul never goes out of style, right?!
